Unlock Your Farm's Regenerative Potential - What To Expect.

The HERDSCAPE course is your catalyst for a profound shift – moving you decisively from your current challenges towards a future where your farm's resource base is actively regenerating, building resilience, biodiversity and an enduring profitability.

There is a future where:

  • Your farm is resilient: You are no longer vulnerable to the devastating effects of drought, with veld and pastures that thrive even in challenging conditions.
  • Your costs are controlled: You significantly reduce your dependence on expensive, external inputs for animal production, enhancing your bottom line.
  • Your enterprise is robust: You become less susceptible to the volatility of market price variations, navigating economic shifts with greater confidence.

Our commitment is to empower you with the knowledge, support, and practical advice needed for you to manage your livestock enterprise with unprecedented effectiveness – to achieve all that you aspire to, and all that we know is truly possible. This dedicated support begins the moment you enrol. Our commitment also extends beyond completion of the course; there is ongoing mentorship and access to advice. Consultation will be available to you long after you have completed the course.

This is not a passive learning experience; we expect a dedicated commitment in order to unlock transformative results for you. A significant investment will be required from you. This includes:

  • A financial investment: The course fee.
  • A time investment: The dedication required to thoroughly study the material and diligently complete assignments.
  • An emotional investment: The willingness to embrace new paradigms, overcome potential frustrations, and challenge established practices.

Your progress through the course will require you to actively engage; you will delve into the theory of change management, regenerative agriculture, grazing management concepts, rotational grazing and animal management.

We recognise that your primary goal is to regenerate your veld, croplands and pastures and to optimise your grazing and livestock management. While some modules in the course may initially seem unrelated, each one is essential for building your comprehensive understanding and strategic thinking.

The course material provides the foundational knowledge and interconnected insights necessary to help you create a regenerating, resilient and profitable animal production enterprise. Every module serves a distinct purpose, together they foster the mindset shift needed for lasting success. Trust the process—every piece fits.

You will complete practical assignments and importantly, you will participate in the hands-on, physical planning for your own farm. We will work collaboratively to guide you through to implementing the changes to your on-farm infrastructure, always in consultation with you and adapted to the resources available to you at that time.

When you complete all the online modules successfully you will have a unique opportunity – if you choose – to deepen your learning by attending an exclusive in-person workshop. This will coincide with visits to working farms where pioneers have been successfully practicing regenerative grazing for years, allowing you to witness these principles in action and to learn directly from their experience.

Some of these farmers attended our original grazing and livestock management course more than a decade ago. Variations of the course have been available in South Africa for more than twenty years.

Be prepared for a fundamental mindset shift with the updated, current, online version, the HERDSCAPE course. Regenerative grazing is not simply adding new tools to your belt – be ready to challenge long-held assumptions and embrace a whole-of-business way of thinking that unlocks your farm's true potential.

This course will guide you through that mindset transformation, you will see your farm as a living system and your animals as partners in building extraordinary soil health. This is beyond a 'fix-it' mentality to one of continuous ecological improvement.

Conventional grazing relies on set rules and inputs—like set stocking rates, fixed rotations, or the use of bought-in inputs. Regenerative grazing starts with principles, it requires observation and planning, monitoring and a timely response. There are no one-size-fits-all recipes; success depends on adapting to feedback from the veld and the animals.

You will begin to manage for long-term soil health and ecosystem function, understanding that prosperity and resilience depend directly upon these foundations.

Instead of seeking to subdue nature or “fix” symptoms with synthetic inputs, regenerative grazing is about working with natural processes, building biodiversity and managing for soil carbon. Livestock harvest the veld and produce an income from it but they are also the ecosystem engineers that increase carrying capacity. Nature does most of the work.

Flexibility replaces rigid scheduling, the right grazing actions will change with rainfall, seasons, plant recovery, and evolving land condition. A regenerative mindset sees soil as a living, dynamic asset to be stewarded, not just a medium for production medium. There is a shift from maximising immediate productivity to optimising long-term ecological and economic function.
